This message focuses on the need to take captive every thought and the process of sin.

I would like to teach on how we take captive every thought and when a sin becomes a sin, how a temptation acctually goes through a process in our mind before it becomes a sin, and methods to OVERCOME the temptation before it becomes a sin.

This study is directed toward those sins that have become virtually hidden from our eyes.

I am asking to receive instruction from this study too! I need help from this wicked natural man that I strive against!

The process of sin begins in our head (mind, heart, spirit).......

James 1:14 - But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. James 1:15 - Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

From the time a certain temptation enters our mind, It goes through a process in our mind, and the way in which we then react to it, can cause that thought or temptation to become a sin : ( ....

Prov 24:10 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

....or a moment of "OVERCOMING"! \O/ HalleluYAH!!!

Isaiah 59:19 - So shall they fear the name of YAHWEH from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of YAHWEH shall lift up a standard against him.

When satan comes to deceive us and tries to cause us to sin,.... let us run into the strong tower of YHWH.....

His Spirit will instruct us what to do at that very moment if we just stop and pray instantly when the temptation comes.

Proverbs 8:14 - Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.

This is when we should fall upon the ROCK.... and ask of Him for help....

1Pe 2:8-9 (8) And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. (9) But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Proverbs 19:21 - There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of YAHWEH, that shall stand.

This is our GOAL each time we are tempted..... to endure the temptation....

James 1:12 - Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which YAHWEH has promised to those who love Him.

HalleluYAH! There is a reward to those who through the Power of the His Spirit repent and walk in righteousness!... A CROWN of ETERNAL LIFE!!!

a sin does not occur when a bad thought comes into our head (mind, heart, spirit) ......

It becomes sinful when we take a liking to the evil thought or don't rebuke the evil thought,....

or act unrighteously upon the evil thought in a manner of actions, or words that proceed from our lips....

This is a very important thing to understand,..... how it is that we "sin".

If we are to repent from our sins,.... we'd better know how to repent from the sin that is not so easily recognized , and prepare to forsake it!

Proverbs 16:3 - Commit thy works unto YAHWEH, and thy thoughts shall be established. Proverbs 16:4 - YAHWEH hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

A thought becomes sinful when; we allow the evil thought to persuade our mind and do not rebuke the wicked thought....

Matthew 5:28 - But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

I tell you the truth Brethren, we ought to learn how to pray at every thought that comes into our mind, to KNOW from YHWH what we ought to do!.....

1Thessalonians 5:17 - Pray without ceasing.

Luke 11:9 - And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Luke 11:10 - For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

2Corinthians 10:4 - for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. 2Corinthians 10:5 - Destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of YAHWEH, taking every thought captive to the obedience of the Messiah,

Bringing into "captivity" EVERY THOUGHT!

Proverbs 24:9 - The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.

This is referring to dwelling upon an unrighteous act... such as lewdness or a heinous "plan"....

We are to stop the "temptation" before it gets to that point.... This is like the "LINE IN THE SAND".

Proverbs 23:17 - Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of YAHWEH all the day long. Proverbs 23:18 - For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.

There is an end to this evil temptation.... one day.... and IF we endure to the end, our expectation shall NOT be cut off...

when we have any thoughts and we do not immediately know of it to be pure or not,.... let us WAIT... and ask for understanding, till we purpose the thought in our heart or let the thought proceed from our tongue....

Proverbs 16:1 - The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from YAHWEH.

Isaiah 30:21 - And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

Rememer what Ya'acov (James) said.....

James 1:19 - So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;

Ecclesiastes 5:2 - Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before Elohim: for Elohim is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.

Proverbs 10:19 - In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.

Proverbs 29:20 - Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

Psalms 139:23 - Search me, O El, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: Psalms 139:24 - And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

A thought becomes sinful when; we act unrighteously upon the evil thought in the manner of actions, or words that proceed from our lips....

Proverbs 30:32 - If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth.

This is a very serious verse..... It should be taken very literally..... it is referring to not allowing our lips to make matters much worse for ourselves.... by sinning with our lips.....

We are to recognize our sins that we are still commiting and then "cease" from that sin..... We do this by the working of the Ruach Kodesh (Holy Spirit).

How are we to do this???

How shall we contend with these temptations and OVERCOME them?

What can we do???

We can use the Ultimate example given to us for this....

The WORD Himself....

Matthew 4:3 - And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of Elohim, command that these stones be made bread. Matthew 4:4 - But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of YAHWEH.

again He was tempted... and did the same thing....

Matthew 4:5 - Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, Matthew 4:6 - And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of Elohim, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Matthew 4:7 - Yahushua said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt YAHWEH thy Elohim.

and for the third time He again was tempted and did the SAME thing!

Matthew 4:8 - Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; Matthew 4:9 - And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

Matthew 4:10 - Then saith Yahushua unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship YAHWEH thy Elohim, and him only shalt thou serve.

The Scriptures say.....

Proverbs 17:9 - He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends.

Would we want to be seperated from the Spirit of Truth? Seperated from Yahushua?

John 15:13 - Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:14 - Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

Proverbs 14:9 - Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.

Brethren our salvation has to do with the repentance of our sins....through the

POWER of the Ruach Kodesh...

Luke 1:77 - To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,

1John 1:7 - But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Yahushua the Messiah His Son cleanses us from all sin.

1John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

How many times we have heard this verse quoted throughout our walk with Him...

Do we really believe that He could cleanse us from "all" unrighteousness?

1John 3:5 - And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 1John 3:6 - Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. 1John 3:7 - Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.

Even as the Messiah is righteous, so are we to be like Him....

without sin....

1John 3:8 - He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of YAHWEH was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 1John 3:9 - Whoever has been born of YAHWEH does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of YAHWEH. It is "essential" that we not only believe it, but that we allow Him to do it!

1John 1:10 - If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

1John 2:1 - My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Yahushua the Messiah the righteous.

John was telling us that we ought not to continue in sin....

The Messiah was sent to show us the "way" of a righteous life, so we could cease from our ways that lead to death....

Psalms 102:19 - For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did YAHWEH behold the earth; Psalms 102:20 - To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death; Psalms 102:21 - To declare the name of YAHWEH in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;

Psalms 37:39 - But the salvation of the righteous is of YAHWEH: he is their strength in the time of trouble. Psalms 37:40 - And YAHWEH shall help them and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

What is the reward of the righteous as promised by our Father in heaven?

Refresh your mind of that for a moment.

1John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Revelations 19:7 - "Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready." Revelations 19:8 - And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Revelations 19:9 - Then he said to me, "Write: `Blessed [are] those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!' " And he said to me, "These are the true sayings of YAHWEH."

We can be the ones spoken of in that verse if we take heed to His admonitions in His WORD.....

Psalms 119:9 - Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. Psalms 119:10 - With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Psalms 119:11 - Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Luke 8:18 - Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

1Corinthians 10:12 - Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 1Corinthians 10:13 - There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but YAHWEH is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

We are instructed throughout the Scriptures to Fear YHWH and His righteous judgements....

Matthew 10:28 - And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Proverbs 14:27 - The fear of YAHWEH is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

The fear of YHWH is not a "bad" thing.... as though we should be ashamed to say.. "I fear YHWH",...

but rather it is a good thing for us to have this fear....

Proverbs 16:6 - By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of YAHWEH men depart from evil.

With this fear we can depart from evil....and walk in righteousness

If we are ever mindful of striving to do His will, we can OVERCOME these temptations we are having....

Luke 13:24 - Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

and if we are having problems at all with it....

Let us FEAR YHWH....

Hebrews 3:18 - And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? Hebrews 3:19 - So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Hebrews 4:1 - Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it.

the best instruction I feel that is found in the Scriptures pertaining to this subject is in James.

James 1:12 - Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which YAHWEH has promised to those who love Him. James 1:13 - Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by YAHWEH"; for YAHWEH cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. James 1:14 - But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. James 1:15 - Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. James 1:16 - Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. James 1:17 - Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. James 1:18 - Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures. James 1:19 - So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; James 1:20 - for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of YAHWEH. James 1:21 - Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. James 1:22 - But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. James 1:23 - For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; James 1:24 - for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. James 1:25 - But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. James 1:26 - If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one's religion [is] useless.

Let us not forget the Reward that will await the righteous......

Psalms 19:7 - The law of YAHWEH is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of YAHWEH is sure, making wise the simple. Psalms 19:8 - The statutes of YAHWEH are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of YAHWEH is pure, enlightening the eyes. Psalms 19:9 - The fear of YAHWEH is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of YAHWEH are true and righteous altogether. Psalms 19:10 - More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Psalms 19:11 - Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

Proverbs 11:18 - The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.

And again.......

Psalms 58:10 - The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked. Psalms 58:11 - So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a Elohim that judgeth in the earth.

Revelations 11:18 - The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, and those who fear Your name, small and great, and should destroy those who destroy the earth."

The reward awaiting us can not be compared to anything we could imagine....

Let us therefore press into the Kingdon with all our might...

1Corinthians 2:9 - But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which Elohim hath prepared for them that love him.

Isaiah 62:11 - Behold, YAHWEH hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

Isaiah 62:12 - And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of YAHWEH: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.

WOW!

Revelations 22:11 - "He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still."

Revelations 22:12 - "And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.

Let us use the reward of the righteous to prepare our hearts to be on the lookout for the temptations to sin.

Let this burn in our spirit Abba is my prayer....

We can be OVERCOMERS!!!!

and with the Help of the COMFORTER,...

we can achieve this!
