(2) That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

(4) That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
(5) To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of YHWH be not blasphemed.

Grow in knowledge and merciful ways.

The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of YHWH shall flourish in the courts of our Elohim. (Psa 92:12-13)

Mal 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

In the fear of YHVH there is great confidence....

Mat 21:19 And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.

Folks, the principle understanding everyone needs to grasp, is that we need to grow in the knowledge of our Creator. it's not good for us to stay stagnant. The way we do this is be "examining ourselves" and asking the Father in prayer for clarity on issues we need to repent of. Please Father? lead me into scriptures and circumstances to help me grow closer to you.

How are we going to progress?


First, by praying and asking for the Father to intercede with the Ruach haKodesh to lead us into ALL right rulings so we can walk with Him and show/tell others of His kingdom.

Second, by digging into His WORD. Today, with MP3's, we have it amazingly easy to hear His WORD any time we want. I have the KJV read by Alexander Scourby and it's simply the biggest blessing I can think of as far as having my faith increased by hearing the WORD.

All the principles Peter (Shimon Kepha) spoke of in the following verses deal with the way the Almighty deals with situations and circumstances and tells us that we will have these qualities when we are walking in the Spirit of Yah.


Growing and helping one another through humility and love...

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of the Messiah: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of YHWH, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of the Messiah: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even the Messiah: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. (Eph 4:11-16)


Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Master is good. (1Pe 2:1-3)


But the day of YHWH will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and reverence, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of YHWH, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. And account that the longsuffering of our Master is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in favour, and in the knowledge of our Master and Saviour Yahushua the Messiah. To him be glory both now and for ever. amein. (2Pe 3:10-18)


Add to your faith

Shimon Kepha, a servant and an apostle of Yahushua the Messiah, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of YHWH and our Saviour Yahushua the Messiah: Favour and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of YHWH, and of Yahushua our Master, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and reverence, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience reverence; And to reverence brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Master Yahushua the Messiah. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Master and Saviour Yahushua the Messiah. (2Pe 1:1-11)


These principles of our doctrinal statement as believers in Yahushua Messiah are found all throughout the Proverbs. I highly recommend that folks listen to an audio version of the scriptures and listen to all the proverbs. Maybe take 4 or 5 verses at a time, per day, or however you want to... I like to just listen to it, and as I listen I contemplate on subjects I may still not fully understand or can fully explain in my mind, or just another nugget of information may jump out and cause me to ponder on one line or verse all day long.

Let's take a look at what proverbs writer says, "right off the bat" about the rewards (mostly spiritual rewards, but also what to do about common physical circumstances) one can partake in by hearing and applying the words written.

I'm going to break it down a bit but not remove one principle, and just to show a list of what believers can glean from proverbs.

The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

To know: > wisdom
> and instruction;
> to perceive the words of understanding;
> To receive the instruction of wisdom,
> to receive the instruction of justice
> to receive the instruction of judgment
> to receive the instruction of equity;
> To give subtilty to the simple
> to give to the young man knowledge
> to give to the young man discretion.


> A wise man will hear, and will increase learning;

> and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: To understand a proverb, and the interpretation;

> to understand the words of the wise, and their dark sayings (conundrums, puzzles, riddles, hard to understand speech).

The fear of YHWH is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Pro 1:1-7)

Pro 14:26 In the fear of YHVH is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

The Fear of YHVH is a BEAUTIFUL thing. All of christiandom teaches that fear of the Creator is a bad thing.

Why would they believe the fear of YHVH is a bad thing?

> Could it be the definition of the word that is unclear?

> not everyone is called to the kingdom

> some are happy with this life only and are not interested in the kingdom of heaven/don't believe the report.

Let's take a look at what the Fear of YHVH is:

H3374 yir-aw Feminine of H3373; fear (also used as infinitive); morally reverence: - X dreadful, X exceedingly, fear (-fulness).

As Yahushua explained;

Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

David had this very understanding as well:

YHVH is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? YHVH taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me. (Psa 118:6-7)

Solomon also wrote of it:

Pro 29:25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in YHVH shall be safe.

Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
